The 2011 Ocean City Boardwalk Aerobatic Airshow held on Sunday September 18 th on the beach in this resort town, featured many different acts that had to battle some windy flying conditions over the beach and ocean. Even though the cool temps and winds kept the crowds bundled up the flying was amazing for the conditions! From formation flying to a wing walker all the acts kept those on the beach looking towards the sky on a late summer afternoon. It was fun listening to the crowd react to the different aerobatic routines as the planes came towards each other and others seemed to be flying out of control. The act that really had the crowds attention was watching wingwalker Jane Wicker do her show in the breezy conditions about the Atlantic Ocean. There was a nice mix of flying from the World War II training planes, the North East Raiders Formation Team and the many aerobatic performers that made the show have a fast pace with hardly any waiting time between acts.

The show is intended to extend the summer season down the shore which most people think ends at Labor Day. The crowd on the beach and boardwalk was a good size and no one left disappointed. With the show held at a shore location there was plenty to eat, drink and find restrooms on the boardwalk for those who came to watch the show. As the show keeps growing and the word gets out it will continue to extend the season in Ocean City for years to come. If you want to get that extra summer weekend down the shore this is the place to come!
